Explore Klaserie

The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve is the largest reserve in the Greater Kruger Park, sharing unfenced boundaries with Kruger National Park. Its landscape sustains strong populations of southern Africa’s most admired wildlife species, yet it offers only private safari experiences and enjoys a low tourism density.

A sanctuary for wildlife

A celebrated diversity of wildlife roams freely in this vast protected area, full of winding rivers, vegetated ridges, and open grassland habitats. The 64,000-hectare Klaserie forms part of an extended transfrontier conservation area over almost 1,000,000 hectares, connecting South Africa, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe.

At the forefront of Klaserie’s conservation practice is to align with the notion of using low-impact ecotourism to sustain and preserve our unique natural resources. At Tulela, we are in the presence of the Big Five and a thriving variety of southern Africa’s most prominent safari species.

Perfectly Positioned

Klaserie is hugged by wilderness area to the north, east, and south and is part of a much larger ecosystem. We share our private traverse of a sprawling 9,000-hectares with a handful of neighbouring lodges who enjoy the equal pleasure of Klaserie’s wilderness. This is our immense playground for exploratory game drives and interpretive bush walks, exclusively for our guests.

The Klaserie is a vast and unpredictable place of true wilderness, yet its location enjoys the convenience of a nearby airport, the popular small town of Hoedspruit, and easy access to some of the region’s most beautiful scenic routes.
